Our Approach To The Home Page Meta Search Experience

Present:

----
The Daily Search is our response to the question "What if Google put a video player and chat box on their main page?" The answer is, owing to all the activity the Google home page gets in a typical day, it would come alive. It would be a hub of visibility and exchange, a living, breathing internet city abuzz with activity and teeming with motion and probably a lot more fun than it is now.
----

TheDailySearch.com provides a Multi Powered Custom Search MashUp that aims to be an Agora (place of assembly) type search setting that serves not only as the starting point for your internet sessions but as a hub of activity and live community. TheDailySearch.com aims to change search by making users visible and encouraging conversation between its users by providing chat and popular videos for discussion right on the main page. In effect, the lonely search engine becomes the internet town square or virtual meeting place where you are greeted by old friends, regulars and meet new ones as you would in a normal day. The uniqueness of TDS is how all of its site pages are linked by a single chat to facilitate community, cooperative search between users and an always connected to someone atmosphere. Users on completely different parts of our site are able to chat, exchange links, transport each other and assist and cooperate. Our users become a part of our team.

How Using The Daily Search As Your Home Page Saves You Time and Space

We know the job of a search engine is to take you where you want to go. That's why we've taken the initiative and included links to the most popular and utilized websites at the top of our pages. We call it the "link wall' and it has the effect of getting you to those sites faster by reducing the number of steps (or clicks) it takes to get there. This saves you time and, in the long run, possibly your clicking finger if some of those links would otherwise reside somewhere buried in your bookmarks. And because we've given these links a convenient spot on our pages, The Daily Search saves you space. Less links have to load in your browser while there is more space available for other, more specialized site links, in your bookmarks. The links we provide at the top of our main page and results page are highly popular and it is likely you will (or have already) find yourself on one or more of these listed sites. A future version of the link wall will be customizable.
